The story has mentioned three locations so far Santa Teresa del Mar, Havana, and New York. Celia and her grandson Ivanito live in Santa Teresa del Mar. Felicia daughter of Celia and mother of Ivanito lives in Havana. My group and I know this because In the first chapter there is a section where they are explaining how Felica "has made a seventeen-mile journey form Havana to Santa Teresa del Mar..." (9) New York was mentioned a few times throughout the first chapter. When I discussed with my group we all agreed that Celia's husband had died there. Also that they have more family there.
So far I can tell that Celia is not to fond of New York City, but that New York City will be a reoccurring location. Maybe it will be one that Celia goes to eventually. Santa Teresa del Mar is where all the action is taking place right now, in the book it mentioned some sort of revolution or conflict. So probably over the next couple of chapters the conflict will continue to unfold. Overall I think the story will mainly take place in Santa Teresa del Mar, because that is where the main character lives. I think the setting will be important to the story because the main conflict is happening in Cuba. In this case there is some sort of conflict/revolution thing going on with Cuba and someone/with in it self. It is not clear if any other place is involved. Maybe The United States will be important because if I understood correctly Celia's husband was in the military. This story could have maybe taken place in a bystander place, somewhere that just watches the conflict going in Cuba.
