Exhibition Reflection
Something I enjoyed about this Renaissance project in English is writing my individual writing piece. This is because I felt like the writing piece gave me the freedom to explore my charter even more. I also enjoyed the medieval play we wrote and performed for history, This is because I felt knowledgeable of my subject and it felt amazing to get to teach my class in such a unique way. Another thing I enjoyed about this Renaissance project was getting to learn about Renaissance games. This is because It made me think about how many games involve probability.
On a scale of 1 - 10 this project was an 8, when it came to how challenging it was. The most challenging aspect of this project was acting like your character/portraying your charter. This is because even though I knew the life of my charter and I knew how they would of acted, it was hard to pretend you did some of the things your charter did. Weather they were bad or good. Something that would have helped with this aspect of the project would of been maybe a quick introduction to improvisation, like playing theater games to warm up our skills.
Yes, on my written piece I received critique and feedback, from my classmates and teacher. Yes the feedback I received was helpful. This is because the teacher gave me feedback on my grammar and structure, and my classmates gave me feedback on things I could add to my writing piece to make it better. I am really proud of my written piece this is because I was able to take something my charter was known for (The love letters between Lucrezia Borgia and Pietro Bembo were considered the prettiest love letters in the world) and make it into something better. I was able to write a love letter from the perspective in which I saw my charter with bits of how Pietro saw Lucrezia Borgia.
Yes, I am happy about how I performed during exhibition. I did not only talk about my charter and my “life” but I was able to talk to other characters whose life I affected or vise versa. I was able to interact with guest in a knowledgeable manner. I even got to use some of the frases I learned in Mrs.Howard’s class or that I researched on my own. Also some people when I told them I was royalty they would bow to me so that was amazing, also I used the curtsy I learned in Mrs.Howard’s class.
Something I would change about this project is adding more performances like people reading their written pieces or performing skits with other charters. I understand the lasting impact of the Renaissance. It was the rebirth of ancient greek and roman culture, which influenced many of the things we know today.
